The University of Pittsburgh Diabetes Institute (UPDI) serves as the umbrella organization under which diabetes education, research, prevention and treatment are coordinated at the University of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center — one of the nation’s most prestigious academic medical centers. UPDI unites experts in the areas of endocrinology, education, epidemiology, patient and physician education, clinical care, health economics, behavioral science and rural medicine. Collaboration is at the core of UPDI through its partnerships with regional, national and international health care organizations.
